Air Mandalay is a Myanmar regional airline based in Yangon and based at Yangon International Airport .

history

Air Mandalay was founded on October 6, 1994 as a joint venture between Myanma Airways and Air Mandalay Holdings Singapore and began flight operations on October 18, 1994 with a flight from Yangon to Mandalay . The first international flight took place on August 27, 1995 between Yangon and Chiang Mai in Thailand .

In December 2014, flight operations had to be discontinued for the time being because a leasing of two Embraer ERJ-145s , which were required to replace older ATR aircraft, could not be concluded. At the beginning of April 2015, charter flights were initially resumed with two ERJ-145ERs that had meanwhile been leased and one remaining ATR 72 . Scheduled flights also followed in May 2015.

In 2018, the airline had to cease flight operations several times, most recently in September 2018.
