The Airport Race (official name International Airport Race ) is a fun run over 10 miles (16.09 km) in Hamburg , which has been held since 1984 (in 1984 and 1985 over 15 km). It usually takes place in mid-September and is the fourth largest running competition in Hamburg according to participants (as of 2009). The running route runs counterclockwise around Hamburg Airport .

The Airport Race is one of three races for the Laufcup Hamburg , which has been held since 2000. The other races are the Alsterlauf (10 km) and the fun run through the beautiful Alstertal ( half marathon ). All three runs take place between the end of August and the end of September.
