Aitor Monroy Rueda (born October 18, 1987 in Alcalá de Henares ) is a Spanish football player . He has been under contract with Dinamo Bucharest since January 2018 .

Career

Monroy joined the youth team at Atlético Madrid in 2005 , and in 2007 he joined the reserve team that was playing in Segunda División B at the time. In 2009 he moved to league competitor UD Logroñés . He was unable to assert himself there and only made 17 appearances in two years. In the summer of 2011, Ceahlăul Piatra Neamț brought him to the Romanian League 1 . There he became a regular and fought with his new club for the next two years to stay in the class. He was not used in the first half of the 2013/14 season before he moved to league rival CFR Cluj in early 2014 . In February 2015 he left Romania to join Sheriff Tiraspol in Moldova. There he reached the runner-up. In September 2015 he moved to Maccabi Petach Tikwa in Israel. There he played for two years and mostly came on as a substitute. In the summer of 2017, his contract was not renewed. He was without a club for six months before the Romanian first division club Dinamo Bucharest signed him in January 2018 .
