from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Academy for Performing Arts e. V. (Rhineland-Palatinate) was a state-recognized drama school in Montabaur that existed from 1997 to 2012 . From autumn 2005 the school had its own Academy Theater Rhineland-Palatinate attached to it for training and theater operations.

history

The school was founded in October 1997 by the actress and director Mechtild Tiziani-Roth (* 1943) and her husband, the opera singer Aldo Tiziani (* 1946). The training initially took place in Mechtild Tiziani-Roth's private apartment. Then the area of the former clothing store of the Bundeswehr in Montabaurer Hunsrückstraße 2 was rented. On August 1, 2001, the drama school received state recognition. The school, to which the in-house academy theater was added in autumn 2005, was supported by a support association and was eligible for BAföG .

The daughter of the founding couple, the actress and director Elektra Jessica Tiziani (* 1975 or 1979), also completed her training at the drama school, taught there and in 2008 took over the management of the training facility together with Benjamin Werres. Since 2005, the Akademie-Theater has staged a total of 23 in-house productions, some of which Jessica Tiziani wrote herself.

In 2012, the lease for the property in Hunsrückstrasse was terminated due to other use. Jessica Tiziani, a granddaughter of the pedagogue Heinrich Roth , originally planned to move to Koblenz's Löhrstrasse , where the theater would continue in the underpass to the Löhr-Center .

education

The admission was decided by the audition of three monologues. The condition for admission was an above-average acting talent . The training lasted six semesters. The lessons consisted of practical and theoretical parts. The focus was on speech training and an internal training program. Ten specialist lecturers taught in-house under the supervision of the Koblenz School Supervisory Authority . After they had reached stage maturity , the pupils were introduced to the artist agency of the Central Foreign and Specialized Agency (ZAV) in Cologne.

The schoolchildren and graduates were also included in the program of the Academy Theater, which has been connected since November 2005 and based in Montabaur.
