Akbarpur ( Hindi : अकबरपुर; Urdu : اکبر پور) is a city in the northern Indian state of Uttar Pradesh .
Akbarpur is located in the south of Uttar Pradesh 35 kilometers west-southwest of Kanpur . The city forms the administrative seat of the Kanpur Dehat district . At the time of the 2011 census, Akbarpur had 20,445 residents. The Nagar Panchayat- type city is divided into 13 wards .
Akbarpur is on the national highway NH 2 from Kanpur to Agra . The NH 25 branches off to the southwest and leads to Orai .
