Akeem Haynes

Akeem Haynes (born March 11, 1992 in Westmoreland , Jamaica ) is a Canadian sprinter and Canadian football player. He is currently under contract with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats from the Canadian Football League (CFL).

The 1.70 m tall and 73 kg athlete was born in Jamaica and immigrated to Canada with his family as a child.

In 2016 he was able to qualify for the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro . While he was eliminated in the preliminary run in the individual races over 100 meters , he reached the final with the relay . The team (Akeem Haynes, Aaron Brown , Brendon Rodney and Andre De Grasse ) initially came fourth with two hundredths of a second defeat, but after the disqualification of third-placed USA moved up to bronze place behind Jamaica and Japan .

On February 7th, the Hamilton Tiger-Cats announced they had signed Haynes.
