Akraia (nickname)
Akraia ( Greek Ἀκραία ) is the epithet of several goddesses in Greek mythology when they had places of worship on mountains. The male equivalent of Akraios (Greek Ἀκραῖος ) is only documented for Zeus .
The individual goddesses are:
- Hera in Corinth
- Aphrodite in Knidos , Troizen , on Cyprus and in Argos (see Aphrodite Akraia )
- Artemis in Argos
- Tyche in Sicyon
