The Little Prince campaign, International Help for Children in Need eV, is a non-profit organization in Warendorf in Westphalia that takes care of children in need .

The association was founded in 1993 by Warendorf citizens, including several doctors, in view of the situation of refugee children in the Yugoslav Wars and was named after the figure of the little prince by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry . His family supported the campaign by authorizing the association to use the “Little Prince” in their name and - in a modified form - in their logo . The association has 617 voting members. The association has received the DZI donation seal every year since 2002 . and has carried out or supported projects in Bosnia-Herzegovina , Croatia , Romania , India , Afghanistan , Mozambique , Zaire / DR Congo , Namibia , Indonesia , Kosovo , Uganda , Pakistan and Haiti , but also within Germany, in order to help former child soldiers , refugee children, (War) orphans and other children in need, e.g. B. after natural disasters to help.

Since 2009 there has been an annual hope run to finance the association's purposes.

In 2017, the collected donations totaled over 1.2 million euros. In addition, thousands of Christmas packages are sent to Romania and Bosnia every year as part of the “I'll give you my star” campaign. Since 2012, RWE has been participating in a collection campaign for stuffed animals for the association.

In January 2018, Brigitte Weiler, project partner of the association in Afghanistan and employee of a hospital in Kabul supported by the association, was killed in a terrorist attack by the Taliban .
