Susanne Höggerl moderated as her parental leave substitute from August 2013 to October 2014 . From May 27, 2015 to April 2017, Susanne Höggerl moderated again, and Marie-Claire Zimmermann from May 3, 2017 to the end of 2018.

In addition, Peter Teubenbacher strengthens the team. The Saturday edition, which was launched on January 5, 2019, is mostly presented by Nadja Mader .

The presenters of Aktuell in Austria also present the 45-minute information program Mittag in Austria at 13:15 on ORF2, which has existed since September 24, 2012 .

content

Current in Austria reports on the chronic daily events in Austria. The focus is on regional events that only appear briefly or not at all in the main news programs such as Zeit im Bild . For the most part, editorial contributions from the ORF state studios are recorded, which are usually also shown in the respective state broadcasts today. In this way, Aktuell functions in Austria as a kind of national state today edition. Sometimes current foreign issues are also dealt with, whereby these relate more and more to Austrians abroad. Time and again, for example in the event of storms or fires, there are connections to reporters at the scene of the incident. Studio guests are rarely invited.

While a normal output lasts a little less than 20 minutes, the transmission time on days when the regular program does not follow - for example between the Christmas holidays - can be up to over 25 minutes. The show achieved an average of around 35 percent market share.

Others

On two Sundays, March 22nd and April 19th, 2020, at 5:35 p.m., a special edition about the COVID-19 pandemic in Austria was published under the title “One country, one team” with contributions from the federal states and long-distance calls broadcast. Both editions were moderated jointly by Gaby Konrad and Stefan Gehrer. The first edition lasted around 75 minutes and reached 1.022 million viewers, the 50-minute edition on April 19 was followed by 568 thousand viewers.
