Al Adamson (full name Albert Victor Adamson junior ; born July 25, 1929 in Hollywood , California , USA ; † June 21, 1995 in Indio , California, USA ) was an American film director and producer , who was particularly low-budget -Sector was active.

Al Adamson was born to actress Dolores Booth and actor and director Victor Adamson. Through veteran B-film Victor Adamson, son Al also got into film. He worked on a film for the first time in 1961 while filming the western Half Way to Hell .

In 1966, Al Adamson and his partner Sam Sherman founded the production company Independent-International Pictures . In the period that followed, Adamson shot and produced low-budget films for the US drive-in cinema market. He worked in various genres, such as B. Western, horror, science fiction, action and soft sex.

For his works, which were produced quickly and cheaply, Adamson was able to attract actors whose careers were on the decline. So he turned u. a. with John Carradine , Russ Tamblyn , Lon Chaney jr. and Kent Taylor .

Private life

Al Adamson married actress Regina Carrol in 1972 , who also appeared frequently in his films. Regina Carrol died of cancer on November 4, 1992. From 1993 until his death, Adamson was married to actress Stevee Ashlock for the second time .

Al Adamson was murdered in his home in June 1995. Craftsman Fred Fulford, who remodeled Adamson's house and lived there during the renovation, was found guilty of murdering the director and setting his body in concrete. The court sentenced Fulford to 25 years in prison.

The crime was in the US series Forensic Detectives station's Investigation Discovery documented.
