Regina Carrol

Regina Carrol (born May 2, 1943 as Regina Gelfan in Boston , Massachusetts , † November 4, 1992 in St. George , Utah ) was an American actress .

Life

Carrol began her acting career at the instigation of her mother at a young age; at the age of five she took part in auditions and played in several theater productions. After her mother died from cancer, she worked as a dancer in Las Vegas . She made her feature film debut in 1960 in an unnamed, uncredited role in Mark Robson's drama From the Terrace with Paul Newman and Joanne Woodward in the lead roles. There were other small roles in film productions such as Two Rode Together with James Stewart and Richard Widmark , Viva Las Vegas alongside Elvis Presley and The Glass Bottom Boat alongside Doris Day and Rod Taylor .

She married the low-budget film director Al Adamson , who then cast her in his films. Between 1967 and 1981 she worked in 14 films by her husband, initially mainly in horror films , later westerns , comedies and action films followed . From February to April 1974 she had her own television talk show in Las Vegas, The Regina Carrol Show . After her last film, Carnival Magic, from 1981, she retired from the film business after being diagnosed with cancer.

Carrol died of complications from her cancer at the age of 49.
