Alain Crepin
Alain Crepin (born February 28, 1954 in Mettet ) is a Belgian composer and conductor .
Live and act
He received his first lessons for saxophone, violoncello and piano at the Dinant Music Academy . He completed his studies at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels , a. a. with François Daneels , saxophone and instrumentation , as well as orchestral direction with Roland Cardon , Yvonne Ducène , and fugue theory with Jacques Leduc .
From 1975 to 1981 he was principal saxophonist in the Musikkorps van de Rijkswacht (Gendarmerie) and from 1981 to 1983 he also worked as a saxophonist in the elite brass orchestra Groot Harmonieorkest van de Belgische Gidsen in Brussels. In 1984 he became conductor of the Chasseurs Ardennais wind orchestra . In 1985 he was appointed conductor of the wind orchestra of the Belgian Air Force.
He also played in the famous Dinant saxophone quartet. From 1986 to 1997 he was Vice President of the International Association for the Promotion of the Saxophone . In 1998 he was appointed to the board of the Saxophonist Association in Paris. He has also taught saxophone at the universities in Gap , (France) and Alicante , (Spain). In 1981 he became professor of saxophone at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels.
As a composer he writes numerous works for wind orchestras and fanfare orchestras.
