Alain Masudi Ekakanga (in Israel also Allen Masudi ; born February 12, 1978 in Kinshasa ) is a football player from the Democratic Republic of the Congo . Masudi is a multiple national player in his homeland.
Club career
Masudi was born in what was then Zaire, but grew up in France . He signed his first professional contract in 1997/98 with the Corsican first division club SC Bastia , but was only used in the substitute team. For the 1998/99 season he moved to the then second division Olympique Nîmes . After a total of 11 second division appearances (one goal), the first division AS Saint-Étienne became aware of him, who committed him during the current season in early 2000. Masudi was used in a total of eight league games (one goal), but could not prevail and was awarded in 2000. Masudi, however, could not convince at the next two clubs ( Lok Moscow and Lausanne-Sports , four league games each, no goal).
It was not until the summer of 2001 that SK Sturm Graz was ready to pay the required transfer fee of 13 million ÖS - the equivalent of around one million euros. In autumn 2003, however, the association dismissed him because he had repeatedly traveled to his home country without asking for permission beforehand.
Masudi played quite successfully for Graz in the Austrian Bundesliga, scoring eleven goals in a total of 49 games.
After his time in Graz Masudi was briefly under contract with the Libyan club Al-Ittihad before moving to the Israeli league for the 2004/05 season. After one season each as a regular at Hapoel Bnei Sachnin and Maccabi Netanja , he played at Maccabi Haifa . On August 14, 2007 Masudi signed a one-year contract for FC Ashdod . He has so far achieved 13 goals in 92 league games and 10 European Cup games in Israel (10 in league games and three in European Cup matches).
In addition to his club career, Masudi played several times for the national team of his home country; Among other things, he took part in the 2004 African Cup of Nations.
