Alan George Lafley

Alan George Lafley (born June 13, 1947 in Keene , New Hampshire ) is an American manager .

Life

Lafley attended Fenwick High School in Oak Park. He graduated from Hamilton College , New York State , from which he graduated with a BA in 1969, and received his MBA from Harvard Business School in 1977 . During the Vietnam War he served as a supply officer in the United States Navy .

Lafley was CEO of Procter & Gamble from 2000 to 2009 and also holds seats on the boards of General Motors , General Electric and Dell . His base salary in 2002 was $ 1.7 million plus a $ 3 million bonus, and his compensation package was $ 87.8 million. In May 2013 it was announced that Alan Lafley will take over the position of Chairman, President and CEO of Procter & Gamble again on June 30, 2013, replacing Robert A. McDonald after four years at the helm. In November 2015 he was replaced by David S. Taylor as President and CEO of Procter & Gamble.

He is the author of several articles for the Harvard Business Review .
