Alan Lerwill

Alan Lerwill ( Alan Leslie Lerwill; born November 15, 1946 in Portsmouth ) is a former British long jumper , triple jumper and sprinter .

In the long jump he was eliminated from the qualification at the 1968 Olympic Games in Mexico City and at the European Athletics Championships in Athens in 1969 .

In 1970 he won bronze in the long jump for England starting at the British Commonwealth Games in Edinburgh and was tenth in the triple jump. At the Universiade he won the long jump.

In 1971 he did not succeed in qualifying at the long jump of the European Championships in Helsinki . At the 1972 Olympic Games in Munich, he came seventh in the long jump .

In 1974 he won the British Commonwealth Games in Christchurch in the long jump and was again tenth in the triple jump. At the European Athletics Indoor Championships in Gothenburg he was sixth in the long jump. At the European Championships in Rome , he finished sixth in the long jump and was eliminated in the 4 x 100 meter relay in the preliminary run.

In the long jump he was four times English champion (1970, 1972, 1974, 1975) and three times English indoor champion (1970, 1971, 1973).
