Alan Osbiston
Alan Osbiston (born May 7, 1914 in Sydney , † 1971 in Twickenham , Middlesex ) was an Australian - British film editor .
Life
Osbiston began his career as an editor in the early 1940s. At first he was involved in a few short films, some of which he directed himself in 1942/43. Feature films followed from 1946. Up to and including 1970 he was involved in more than 40 productions in the field of film editing .
In the 1950s he worked with Guy Hamilton on several films .
For his work on The Guns of Navarone , he was nominated for an Oscar in the category Best Editing in 1962 .
