Paul Weß (2007)

Paul Weß (born February 14, 1936 in Vienna ) is an Austrian Roman Catholic theologian .

Life

Paul Weß studied philosophy and theology with Karl Rahner at the University of Innsbruck and made his doctorate in philosophy in 1961. In 1962 he was ordained a priest in Vienna. From 1966 to 1996 he was a pastor in the parish Machstrasse in Vienna. In 1968 he did his doctorate in theology in Innsbruck . In 1989 he completed his habilitation in pastoral theology in Innsbruck. From 1996 to 2000 he was a lecturer and visiting professor for pastoral theology in Graz, Innsbruck and Würzburg. Since 2000, Weß has been an external university lecturer for pastoral theology at the Institute for Practical Theology at the Theological Faculty of the University of Innsbruck.
