Alan Pennington
Alan Pennington (born April 4, 1916 in Wallasey , † June 2, 1961 in Lisbon ) was a British sprinter .
At the Olympic Games in 1936 he reached the semifinals over 100 m . Over 200 m and in the 4 x 100 meter relay , he was eliminated in the preliminary run.
In 1937 he won silver over 100 m at the International University Games .
At the European Athletics Championships in Paris in 1938 , he won bronze in the 200 m and silver in the 4 x 400 meter relay .
After the Second World War he worked in the insurance industry . He committed suicide while on a business trip .
