Alarm für Cobra 11: Nitro is a racing game programmed by Synetic in 2006 and distributed by RTL Enterprises. The successor Alarm for Cobra 11: Crash Time was released on November 2nd, 2007.

Game description

The game was released for PC in November 2006 and is based on the action television series Alarm für Cobra 11 of the same name , which RTL has been producing since 1996 .

The player takes the wheel of over 15 different vehicles, from cars to trucks, with which he has to take on various tasks. The vehicles do not have licenses (hence fictitious names), but are very close to their role models. Only at the end of the game is the player surprised with two Seat licensed vehicles . There are three game modes: career mode, single race and split screen.

In career mode, 27 tasks each with four levels of difficulty (easy, normal, difficult and nitro) have to be mastered. The individual levels of difficulty differ only in terms of their time and damage limits. Since the tasks are not very varied, they can be roughly divided into the following categories:

  • Tracking and stopping the vehicle: Another vehicle must be caught up and rammed until it stops, unable to drive.
  • Tracking the vehicle and braking: Here the opposing vehicle must also be overtaken, but it may only take little damage and must be braked.
  • Escape or win a race: In both cases the player must have reached the finish in front of a group of computer-controlled opponents.
  • Drive through checkpoints: Checkpoints must be passed with or without a specified route within a time limit.

The single race mode is limited to driving the routes already unlocked in career mode against one to five computer opponents with any vehicle.

In split-screen mode, all routes that have already been cleared can be played in pairs on the same computer with any vehicle.
