Albert C. Vaughn
Albert Clinton Vaughn, Jr. (born October 9, 1894 in West Catasauqua , Lehigh County , Pennsylvania , † September 1, 1951 in Fullerton , Pennsylvania) was an American politician . In 1951 he represented the state of Pennsylvania in the US House of Representatives .
Career
Albert Vaughn attended the public schools in Whitehall and then until 1910 the local high school. In 1911 he graduated from the Business College in Allentown . He also took advanced courses in business administration. During the First World War he served in the US Navy . In the following years he worked in the private sector. Among other things, he held administrative positions and worked in sales. Between 1929 and 1935 he was the school principal in Whitehall. At the same time he embarked on a political career as a member of the Republican Party . In 1945 and 1947 he was on the staff of Congressmen Charles L. Gerlach and Franklin H. Lichtenwalter, respectively .
In the 1950 congressional elections , Vaughn was elected to the US House of Representatives in Washington, DC in the eighth constituency of Pennsylvania , where he succeeded Lichtenwalter on January 3, 1951. He was only able to exercise this mandate until his death on September 1 of the same year. This time was shaped by the events of the Cold War .
