Albert David Jordan

Albert David Jordan (born July 28, 1877 in Seaforth , Ontario , † September 7, 1932 in Perry Sound ) was a Canadian organist , conductor and music teacher .

The brother of Henri K. Jordan studied at the Toronto College of Music with Frederick Herbert Torrington . He was organist at St Clement's Anglican Church in the 1890s and organist and choirmaster at Brant Ave Methodist Church in Brantford from 1897 to 1902 . In 1902 he founded the Brantford Male Choir. From 1903 to 1924 he worked at the First Methodist Church in London / Ontario; he also taught at the London Conservatory until 1919 . He also conducted various choirs and performed as a concert organist.

At the Pan-American Exposition in Buffalo in 1901 and the Pacific Panama Exposition in San Francisco in 1915, Jordan appeared as a representative of Canada. In 1916 he founded the London Musical Art Society and in 1919 the London Institute of Musical Art , which he directed until his death. From 1925 to 1932 he was the organist and choirmaster at the Timothy Eaton Memorial Church . In 1931 he founded the Toronto Chamber Music Society .
