Albert Hassler (born November 2, 1903 in Chamonix , † September 22, 1994 ibid) was a French ice hockey player and speed skater . His daughter was the figure skater Nicole Hassler .
Career
Albert Hassler played in the 1920s and 1930s for his home club, the Chamonix Hockey Club , with which he won the French championship several times .
For the French national team , Hassler took part in the Winter Olympics in Chamonix in 1924 , in St. Moritz in 1928 and in Garmisch-Partenkirchen in 1936 . At the 1924 Winter Games, he also took part in speed skating over 500 meters. At the European Championships in 1923 he won the silver medal with his team. At the European Championship in 1924 he even won the gold medal with France.
In 2009 he was accepted into the “ Temple de la renown du hockey français ”. The Trophée Albert Hassler is named after him and is awarded annually to the best French player in the Ligue Magnus , the highest French ice hockey division.
