Albert Helbling

Albert Helbling (born June 12, 1878 in Epsach ; † January 7, 1964 in Grenchen , reformed , resident in Epsach) was a Swiss politician ( FDP ).

Life

Albert Helbling was born on June 12, 1878 in Epsach as the son of Friedrich Helbling and Anna Maria born Laubscher. Helbling, who spent his childhood and youth in Gerolfingen in the municipality of Täuffelen , completed the agricultural courses in Rütti .

As a result, Helbling initially headed sugar beet cultivation in Cudrefin and , from 1910, beet cultivation in Grenchen. After closing this business, Albert Helbling worked for forty years as the manager of the Grenchen agricultural cooperative. In addition , he presided over the reformed parish of Grenchen.

He was married to Anna Martha nee Buri. Albert Helbling died on January 7, 1964 at the age of 85 in Grenchen.

Political career

As a member of the free-spirited party, Helbling was a local councilor in Grenchen. At the cantonal level, he represented his party between 1921 and 1946 in the Solothurn Cantonal Council , which he chaired in 1944. In addition, Helbling took a seat on the National Council from 1931 to 1947 . There Albert Helbling presided over the Commission for Milk Price Support and the Federal Finance Commission. He also acted as President of the Cooperative Association of Northwestern Switzerland between 1939 and 1958 . He appeared as a promoter of the consolidation of goods.
