Albert Jorquera i Fortià (born March 3, 1979 in Bescanó , Spain ) is a former Spanish football player on the position of goalkeeper .

career

Jorquera moved in 1994 from Vilobí FC to the Barça school for the youth team of FC Barcelona. In 1998 he went to FC Barcelona C and a year later saw him rise to the FC Barcelona B . From 2000 to 2002 Jorquera was loaned to AD Ceuta and CE Mataró for one year each . In the 2002/2003 season he achieved a regular place in the second team of FC Barcelona. He made his debut in the Primera División on January 17, 2004 against Athletic Bilbao (1-1). In March 2007, Jorquera was then committed to 2008 as a substitute goalkeeper behind Victor Valdes of the A team of FC Barcelona. In December 2007 he suffered a serious knee injury that put him out of action for half a year. Nevertheless, his contract was extended to 2010 in March 2008. In 2009 Jorquera moved to FC Girona . In August 2010, at the age of 31, he announced his retirement to work as a jeweler in the family business after graduating in gemology .

Jorquera has played for the Catalan football team several times .
