Albert Klein (entrepreneur)

Albert Klein (born December 31, 1881 in Kitzingen ; † 1962 ) was a German entrepreneur.

Career

Klein completed an apprenticeship as a cooper . He developed his craft business from the smallest beginnings into a group of companies with several sawmills and barrel factories. It included the Albert Klein barrel factory in Mainz, the Josef Strobl barrel factory in Munich, the Allgäu wood industry and the impregnation plant in Aulendorf and the barrel wood plant in Hailer near Gelnhausen. He was a co-founder of WEKAWE in Mainz, the Bavarian timber trading company and the Bayernwerk .

In his works he created facilities for the social care of employees. For the workforce, which after the end of the Second World War consisted of up to 50% displaced persons , he had 35 company apartments built from resources. There was an old-age and survivors' pension. He made considerable financial resources available for new churches and charitable purposes.
