Albert light blue
Albert Lichtblau (* 1954 ) is an Austrian historian. He is Professor of Contemporary History, Head of the History Department at the University of Salzburg and Deputy Head of the Center for Jewish Cultural History at the University of Salzburg.
Life
Albert Lichtblau studied history and political science at the University of Vienna . He received his doctorate in 1980 from the University of Vienna (Dr. phil.) With the work Beginnings of Communal Housing Policy in Vienna from 1892-1919 . In 1992 he completed his habilitation at the University of Salzburg with the thesis Social Structure, Social Tension and Anti-Semitism: a comparative study of the social strata of the anti-Semitic movements in Berlin and Vienna from emancipation to the First World War .
From 1987 to 1989 he worked as a research assistant at the Center for Research on Antisemitism at the TU Berlin. Then he moved to the University of Salzburg. Until 2003 he worked as a freelancer at the Institute for the History of the Jews in St. Pölten. There he was u. a. involved in the book project History of the Jews in Austria . Among other things, he conducted numerous interviews as part of the Survivors of the Shoah project of the Visual History Foundation .
He is co-initiator of www.unitv.org. His main research interests include a. Migration, Racism, Politics of Remembrance, Oral History and Audiovisual History. He is the creator of several documentaries.
