Albert Lorenz
Friedrich Albert Lorenz (born July 31, 1816 in Roßwein , † March 24, 1887 in Berlin ) was a Prussian military musician , conductor and composer . He gained fame primarily through his cavalry marches.
biography
Lorenz was born as the son of the late cloth maker Christian Friedrich Lorenz and his wife Johanne Christiane born in Liebenwerda . Wegert born. After training as a bandmaster, he volunteered for service in the Prussian army and was elected head of the regiment's trumpet corps by the officers' corps of the Royal Prussian 2nd Guards Uhlan Regiment in 1850 , after his predecessor, trumpeter Gröning, for health reasons was eliminated. He directed the trumpeter corps of the Royal Prussian 2nd Guard Uhlan Regiment until 1859. In 1854 he received the Prussian General Decoration . In the years from 1857 to 1859 he successfully participated in the composition competitions advertised by the publishing house Bote and Bock, Berlin. Some of his cavalry marches were included in the Prussian Army March Collection .
