Career
Albert Malgin began his career as a hockey player with Molot-Prikamje Perm , for which he was active from 1984 to 1988 in the Vysschaya League , the first Soviet division at the time. He then moved to Chimik Woskressensk , for whom he also played first-class for the next four years. In the 1992/93 season, the attacker played abroad for the first time when he was signed by HK Acroni Jesenice from the Slovenian Ice Hockey League . After the season he signed a contract in the Swiss National League B , in which he was then on the ice for two years for the EHC Chur and one season for the EHC Biel .
After Malgin had started the 1996/97 season again at EHC Chur, he joined the EHC Olten , for which he ran up until 2006 in the NLB. Only during the 1999/2000 season did the Russian play twelve games for Revierlöwen Oberhausen in the German Ice Hockey League and two games in the NLB for HC Ajoie during the 2004/05 season . The 2005/06 season ended the center at Olten's league rivals, SC Langenthal . He then ended his career as a player at the age of 40.
Before the 2007/08 season, Malgin received a contract as an assistant coach at the NLB club EHC Biel , for which he was again in a game on the ice this season because a player with a foreign license had injured himself.
