Albert Miller (born June 3, 1900 in Munich ; † November 22, 1966 there ) was a German politician ( NSDAP ). He was head of main office 1, the Reich Finance Administration , the Reich Treasurer and from 1941 to 1945 a member of the Reichstag .

Life

From 1906 to 1912 Miller attended a Munich elementary school and then until 1916 a district high school. In the late phase of the First World War he was sent to a non-commissioned officer school as a war volunteer . In 1918 he came to the front with the 1st Bavarian Foot Artillery Regiment .

After Miller was released from the demobilization department in February 1919, he was a member of the Epp Freikorps in April and May 1919 . He then embarked on a career as a tax officer. From 1919 to 1922 he worked at the Kaufbeuren tax office and then until 1923 at the tax office III in Munich, where he passed the examination for the middle financial administration service.

In 1923 Miller left the financial service in order to become self-employed as an accountant, auditor and tax advisor. He carried out this activity until 1933.

A few months after the National Socialists came to power, Miller became a leader in the labor service on April 15, 1933 , which he remained until December 31, 1934. He then became an auditor for the Reich leadership of the NSDAP, to which he had been a party member since 1929.

From December 1, 1935 to June 1940, Miller was the head of the accounting office of the Reich leadership. During this time he was appointed SA -verwaltungs-Standartenführer zV on May 1, 1937 . He himself later stated that the appointment had taken place without his knowledge at the suggestion of the Reich Treasurer of the NSDAP Franz Xaver Schwarz and that it was a pure honorary rank. Before that he was not a member of the SA.

From July 1940 to the end of April 1945 Miller then served as head of main office 1 (Reich Finance Administration) of the Reich Treasurer. In this capacity he was the personal assistant to the treasurer of the NSDAP for the areas of cash management, bookkeeping and accounting. In this position Miller was appointed SA administrative brigade leader on November 9, 1943, while in the party he reached the rank of head of command of the NSDAP.

On the occasion of the Reichstag election of April 1938, Miller was proposed as a candidate on the NSDAP's unified electoral list, but was not elected. On February 3, 1941, however , he was able to move up to the National Socialist Reichstag for the late MP Richard Büchner , where he represented constituency 19 ( Hessen-Nassau ) until the end of the Nazi regime.

After the Second World War, Miller fell into Allied captivity. As a result, he was heard as a witness at the Nuremberg Trials .
