Albert Pfuhl

Albert Karl Pfuhl (* 2. December 1929 in Wiesbaden ; † 16th August 2005 ) was a German politician of the SPD .

Life

Pfuhl was born as the son of the innkeeper Albert Pfuhl in Steckenrode in the Taunus . He attended high school in Usingen and joined the SPD in 1950. In 1951/52 he was state chairman of the Young Socialists in Hesse and in 1952/1953 a member of the National Board of Young Socialists. Albert Pfuhl was sub-district chairman of the SPD Schwalm-Eder from 1973 to 1987.

After studying law in Marburg , he completed a master’s program in labor law at the University of Illinois from 1952 to 1953 .

On April 1, 1959, his tenure as the youngest mayor in Hesse began in Ziegenhain (today Schwalmstadt ). In 1968 he resigned from this office and became district administrator for the district of Ziegenhain . With the territorial reform in Hesse in 1973, the district was dissolved and he left the district office.

From 1974 to 1983 Pfuhl was a member of the state parliament in Wiesbaden and from 1983 to 1994 a member of the Bundestag . In 1984 he was a member of the Federal Assembly .

Albert Pfuhl was married and had three children.

Others

Pfuhl was district chairman of the German Red Cross from 1968 to 1993. He was Honorary Consul of Albania .
