Albert Pla
Albert Pla i Álvarez (born September 22, 1966 in Sabadell ) is a Spanish songwriter . He sings in Spanish and Catalan .
Career
In 1988 he won the 4th Jaén Music Competition . The following year his first album was released: Ho Sento Molt . In 1990 he was awarded the Catalan Music Prize ( Premi Nacional de Música de la Generalitat de Catalunya ). In 1992 he signed with BMG Ariola , where his third album, No Solo De Rumba Vive El Hombre was released in 1992. The album was the first to contain songs with Spanish-language texts and made him known beyond Catalonia.
He puts on eccentric stage shows, which he calls "multimierda" (play on words from " multimedia " and "mierda": crap). His lyrics tell tragic, crazy, comical and insane stories.
His songs have found their way into soundtracks several times: Mariano Barroso's Mi Hermano Del Alma (1993), Álex de la Iglesias El Dia de la Bestia from 1995 and Pedro Almodóvar's film Live Flesh from 1997.
