Albert Prager

Albert Prager (born March 20, 1842 in Pohrlitz , Kronland Moravia , † June 27, 1915 in Vienna ) was an Austrian social democratic politician and editor . He was one of the pioneers of the Austrian labor movement .

Life

Prager, a chaser by profession , founded the General Workers' Education Association in Vienna- Gumpendorf , a forerunner organization of the Social Democratic Party of Austria , with others , and became a member of its committee. In addition, in 1868 Prager was a member of the founding committee of the Workers', Sickness and Invalidity Fund and the Social Democratic Committee, which maintained connections with the workers' education associations and the International Workers' Association ( First International ).

Prager was also editor of the social democratic body “Der Radikal” and for many years owner, publisher and editor of the political magazine “Die Donau”.
