Albert Rivaud
Albert Rivaud (born May 14, 1876 in Nice , † September 15, 1955 in Bourges , Cher département ) was a French classical philologist , philosopher and politician .
Rivaud wrote numerous authoritative source editions , such as those of Plato . In 1908 he became a professor at the University of Poitiers . In 1927 he took over the chair of philosophy at the Paris Sorbonne from Léon Brunschvicg and became a member of the Academy of Moral and Political Sciences . After the defeat of France in 1940, Rivaud briefly held the post of education minister in Philippe Pétain's first cabinet .
