Albert Winkler (architect)

Albert Winkler (born September 10, 1854 in Altona ; † October 18, 1901 in Dockenhuden ) was a German architect who worked mainly in Altona and the province of Schleswig-Holstein .

Life

Born and raised in Altona, Albert Winkler studied architecture at the Hanover Polytechnic as a student of Conrad Wilhelm Hase . In 1875 he became a member of the Corps Slesvico-Holsatia . After graduating, he settled in Altona as an architect. As an important representative of the Hanover School , he created notable residential buildings and monastery buildings, but also industrial buildings and public buildings and squares. After his death in 1901, the architects Raabe & Wöhlecke took over his architectural office.
