Albert von Hofmann

Albert von Hofmann (born September 30, 1867 in Berlin , † March 11, 1940 in Stuttgart ) was a German historian and honorary professor at the University of Marburg .

Hofmann was the son of the well-known chemist August Wilhelm von Hofmann . In 1924 he became honorary professor for historical-geographical connections in historical documents . In 1935/37 he was given leave of absence. His popular book "Das deutsche Land und die deutsche Geschichte" (1920) influenced Claus von Stauffenberg .

In November 1933 he signed the German professors' confession of Adolf Hitler .
