Alberto Beltrán (singer)

Alberto Beltrán (born June 5, 1924 in Palo Blanco , † February 4, 1997 in Santo Domingo ) was a Dominican singer.

Betrán was discovered in 1947 in a competition organized by the La Voz del Yuna radio station . His appearance was a great success, which brought him an exclusive contract with the broadcaster. He also received singing lessons from Carlos Crespo and piano lessons from Vlady Silva . Radio broadcasts made him popular in the Dominican Republic, and he recorded his first pieces on record, such as Boleros Bendito amor by Bienvenido Brens and Hasta cuando by Babín Echavarría and with Mario Hernández and Los Diablos del Caribe with the Súper Orquesta San José several guarachas .

In 1954 Berltrán came to Cuba for the first time, where his compatriot Tirso Guerrero made it possible for him to perform with the group Sonora Matancera on Radio Progreso .
