Alberto Bertuccelli (born January 4, 1924 in Viareggio ; † August 15, 2002 ibid) was an Italian football player who played for AS Viareggio , AS Lucchese Libertas , Juventus Turin and AS Roma as well as for the Italian national football team.

Career

Alberto Bertuccelli began his professional career in 1942 with the US Città di Pontedera and moved to AS Viareggio in Serie C after the end of World War II , with whose team the defender achieved promotion to Serie B in his only season for the club . He then joined AS Lucchese Libertas and left his hometown. With the then active in the second division team promotion to the succeed in his first season for Lucchese as the winner of Girone B Serie A . In the following two years, relegation was successfully ensured. Then the defender moved to league rivals Juventus Turin . There Bertuccelli managed to fight for a regular place and win the Italian championship with Juventus in the 1949/50 season.

In the following season , the team placed third, before 1951/52 the renewed win of the Scudetto could be celebrated. In his last two years in Turin, the defender fought for the championship with Juventus, but fell short of successes in second place behind Inter Milan . He completed a total of 144 league games for Juventus and scored two goals. For the 1954/55 season he was still under contract with AS Roma and also played there with the club for the championship title, which was not won as third-placed. Then he ended his active career.

Bertuccelli was appointed to the Italian selection for the first time in 1949 , for which he made his debut on May 22, 1949 in a 3-1 victory over Austria. The defender played his sixth and last appearance on December 28, 1952 against Switzerland, and this game was also won.
