Alberto Chaíça

Alberto Chaíça ( Alberto Francisco Cansado Chaíça ; born September 17, 1973 in Caparica , Almada ) is a Portuguese long-distance runner who specializes in the marathon .

In 2002 he made his debut at the Berlin Marathon and finished 14th in 2:12:02 h. The following year he became national champion in the 10,000 meter run and came fourth in the marathon of the World Championships in Paris / Saint-Denis in his personal best of 2:09:25 h.

In 2004 he was eighth in the Seoul International Marathon and in the marathon of the Olympic Games in Athens . A 45th place at the 2005 World Championships in Helsinki was followed by eighth place at the European Athletics Championships in 2006 in Gothenburg and 22nd place at the 2007 World Championships in Osaka.
