Alberto Curci

Alberto Curci (born December 5, 1886 in Naples , † June 2, 1973 ibid) was an Italian violinist , composer , music publisher and violin teacher.

Curci, initially Angelo Fernis's violin student at the Conservatorio San Pietro a Majella di Napoli , came to Berlin in 1905 to complete his studies with Joseph Joachim as the basis for a concert career. From then on, Curci performed in the capitals of Europe and Asia. During the First World War he returned to Italy and taught at the Conservatorio di Musica Vincenzo Bellini in Palermo and at the Conservatorio di Musica Arrigo Boito in Parma . Then Francesco Cilea appointed him to the chair of violin at the Conservatorio San Pietro a Majella di Napoli, whose director Alberto Curci had been for four decades. His students include Aldo Pavanelli , Angelo Gaudino and Renato Carosone .
