Alberto Ongaro (born August 22, 1925 in Venice , Province of Venice , Italy ; † March 23, 2018 there ) was an Italian journalist , writer and comic book author .

life and work

With his friends Dino Battaglia and Hugo Pratt , he founded the comic magazine Asso di Picche, named after a Pratt comic in 1945 . This is why the Junglemen series was created ! , which was written by Ongaro and initially implemented in drawings by Battaglia. In 1949 he moved to Buenos Aires for seven years with Pratt, Faustinelli and Ido Pavone , where he wrote comics for the Argentine market. This was done at the invitation of Cesare Civitas from the publishing house Grupo Editorial Abril , who had previously also published Junglemen! In addition to Asso di Picche . and other works by the Italian group published in its magazine Salgari . During his time in Argentina, Ongaro wrote other stories in the Junglemen! which were not drawn by Battaglia, who remained in Italy, but now by Pratt. After his return he devoted himself increasingly to journalism and writing. From 1992 he delivered texts for the comic series Nick Raider under the pseudonym Alfredo Nogara .

Ongaro's novels The animated shadow ( L 'ombra abitata ) and The game with death ( La partita ) have been published in German by Ongaro . La partita was made into a film in 1988; the title of the German-language dubbing is The Part of His Life . In addition, he was involved in other film and television productions.
