action

Venice at the beginning of the Rococo in the XVIII century. Francesco Sacredo, a young aristocratic hotspur, freshly returned to the lagoon city from his exile in Corfu , tries by all means to regain his father's property that he once lost to the German Countess von Wallenstein at the game.

Francesco, once determined to help his father, plays with the highest stakes himself - his own life as a pawn.

The beautiful and cunning Countess smells great prey and still has some hidden assets up her sleeve. The game actually takes place, but as life goes, Francesco's card doesn't stand out - bad luck in the game, luck in love - and the young Venetian nobleman loses - ... the game and with it herself. The countess triumphs, but too early.

In order not to end up in the clutches of the unscrupulous lady for the rest of his life and thus become a slave, he and the charming Lady Olivia Candioni flee from her across Europe, from Paris to Flanders and Cologne to the sea, always knowing that the countess's captors are hot on his heels, for the power of the vain and unscrupulous lady extends far.

Reviews

“When trying to regain the family property that the father lost to a countess, a young nobleman gambled himself away as well. Thereupon he was pursued through half of Europe by the equally beautiful and unscrupulous woman. Costume film, set in Venice at the end of the 17th century. "
