Ann Mollo

Margaret Ann Mollo (* 1933 ) is a British set designer , garden designer and model . She received an Oscar nomination for the production design in The French Lieutenant's Beloved .

Live and act

From 1956 to 1966 Ann Mollo was married to the costume designer and military historian John Mollo .

In 1973 Ann Mollo designed the set for a feature film for the first time: the British horror satire Theater des Grauens . Until the 1990s she was involved in numerous feature film productions as a set designer and set designer. For her collaboration in the production of the film Die Geliebte des French Lieutenant , she was nominated for an Oscar in the category Best Production Design in 1982 together with the film architect Assheton Gorton . She also worked as a model. Notoriety she gained by an After Eight - commercial producer Lester Richard .

After her career in the film business, Moll devoted herself to horticulture . Her own garden, which is designed in a romantic style with roses, lilies and a Gothic arbor , has received multiple awards and featured in gardening magazines. She works as a garden designer and often uses elements such as trellises , arches, obelisks and arbors to structure gardens.

Mollo lives in Notting Hill with her partner, production designer Jon Bunker .

A portrait photo of her is in the National Portrait Gallery in London. It was taken in 1969 by photographer and production designer Michael Seymour (* 1932).
