Albertsberg is a group of houses in a forest clearing south of Schnarrtanne and has been part of Auerbach in Vogtland since 1995 . The location is about 692 m above sea level near Bad Reiboldsgrün, east of the Great Deer Pond, through which the Zinsbach flows.

The group of buildings was built between 1896 and 1897 as part of a people's sanatorium for lung patients, here for men (for women in Carolagrün ). At the opening ceremony, it was given the name that has been preserved to this day and refers to the Saxon King Albert . The settlement, consisting of hospital buildings, a former chapel and residential buildings, was the first people's sanatorium in Saxony. In 1899 it had a bed capacity for 141 people. Extension buildings date from the years 1913 and 1927 to 1928. From 1945 to 1965 the facility was part of the United Lung Health Centers, and then of the Bad Reiboldsgrün Specialist Hospital for Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.

The neo-Gothic chapel from 1906 was designed by Heinrich Tscharmann and lost its previous purpose in 1937. The interior design is the work of Paul Rößler , which was damaged by the conversion with partial losses. After 1945 there was a restaurant in the building. The former and now listed building for the specialist staff is a neo-renaissance building .
