The Albertus-Magnus-Gymnasium (AMG) is a Catholic private school in St. Ingbert (Saarland). It is sponsored by the non-profit St. Dominikus Schools GmbH .

history

In 1852 the community of the poor school sisters of St. Dominic was founded by Bishop Nikolaus von Weis (since 1972 Institute St. Dominic) in Speyer . On November 19, 1891, the poor school sisters opened a private school with twelve pupils. In 1901, the private school could be expanded into a four-class “Higher Daughter School”. In 1917 the Lyceum "Auf der Mess" was expanded into a six-class school. In 1944, the first graduate class passed their exams in the eight-year full institution - at that time as a municipal school during the National Socialist era. On April 1, 1946, the sisters were given back their school retrospectively from October 1, 1945 as a full institution. A school sister ran the school until the 1989 school year. On March 31, 2003, the religious order founded the non-profit St. Dominikus Schools GmbH under the umbrella of the St. Dominikus Foundation, which continues the commitment of the sisters.

For the 100th anniversary of the school, the commemorative publication “100 years of Albertus Magnus Gymnasium St. Ingbert, private school at the Mess” with 168 pages was created by Georg A. Stief. St. Ingbert published.
