The Albertville Realschule is one of two Realschulen in Winnenden in the Rems-Murr district in Baden-Württemberg .

The school was initially called Realschule Winnenden I in Education Center II and was renamed Albertville Realschule in 1980 after the twin town of Albertville in the French Alps . In 2009, around 580 students in 20 classes will be taught by 32 teachers at the Realschule. The school has had a student exchange with the Collège La Combe de Savoie in Albertville since 1981 and with the Vörösmarty Mihály Gimnázium in Budapest since 2007 .

On March 11, 2009 the 17-year-old trainee and former student Tim Kretschmer ran amok . As part of the school massacre that led to the crime , eight schoolgirls, one schoolboy and three teachers were murdered. Due to the events, the school initially suspended classes for all classes. After a decentralized resumption of lessons at six different locations, from May 18, 2009 all pupils were again taught together in a container village on the sports field. The school building was completely renovated, partially rebuilt and expanded. Since the beginning of the 2011/2012 school year, teaching has been in the renovated building again. The handover and the 50th anniversary of the school took place on October 15, 2011.
