Albrecht Achilles of Plehwe

Albrecht Achilles von Plehwe (born December 3, 1805 in Dwarischken (Pillkallen district) , † June 26, 1883 in Wiesbaden ) was a Prussian major general and commander of the 29th Infantry Brigade .

Life

origin

His parents were the gentleman on Dwarischken Otto Siegfried von Plehwe (1748-1810) and his wife Katharina Caroline, née Heinz (1770-1804). After the mother's death, the father married Esther Christiane Heinz (1780–1866) in 1805. The father was also a brother of Major General Karl Bernhard von Rosenbusch born. from Plehwe. The Prussian Lieutenant General Bernhard von Plehwe was his brother.

Military career

He came to Kulm as a cadet on March 26, 1818, became a non-commissioned officer there on February 26, 1820 and went to Berlin as a cadet on July 15, 1820. Then he came on October 13, 1822 as porter in the 2nd Guard Regiment on foot . There he was aggregated as a second lieutenant on March 15, 1823 and assigned to June 18, 1824. Promoted to Premier-Lieutenant on February 16, 1837, he became a captain and company commander on April 13, 1844. On September 7, 1850 he was promoted to major and transferred to the 3rd Landwehr Regiment, where he was commander of the 2nd Battalion in Gumbinnen . There he was appointed lieutenant colonel on October 15, 1856 and transferred to the 3rd Infantry Regiment on January 10, 1857 . On February 22nd, 1859 he was commissioned with the command of the 33rd Infantry Regiment , at the same time he was placed à la suite of the regiment. He was promoted to colonel on May 31, 1859 and confirmed as commandant. On the occasion of the coronation celebrations of King Wilhelm I, he received the Order of the Crown, 2nd class on October 18, 1861 . On April 30, 1842, he married Ernestine von Plehwe (1826–1900), a daughter of Major a. D. Friedrich Adolf von Plehwe (1791–1866). The couple had several children:

  • Otto (1844–1916), emigrated to America in 1866 ⚭ Minna von Donop († 1920)
  • Anna (1848-1848)
