Karl Bernhard von Rosenbusch (born November 18, 1744 on Pillkallen, † April 15, 1807 in Ansbach ) was a Prussian major general .

Life

origin

His parents were the lieutenant and landowner Joachim von Plehwe and his wife Anna Marie, née Rasch. On January 23, 1774, he was adopted by Major General Hans Christoph von Rosenbusch . Bernhard von Plehwe , who later became Lieutenant General Bernhard von Plehwe, was born in 1792 and was his nephew.

Military career

Rosenbusch came in 1761 as a Junker in the Hussar Regiment "von Wechmar" and took part in the already ongoing Seven Years' War . There he fought in the defense of Kolberg, the battle near Spie and in the battles near Reichenbach and Teschen. In the battle near Bauerwitz on June 20, 1761, he was wounded in the head.

After the war, Rosenbusch was appointed cornet on April 1, 1764 and promoted to second lieutenant on September 15 . As such he fought in 1778/79 in the War of the Bavarian Succession in the battle near Glomnitz. For this he received on August 13, 1778 the order Pour le Mérite . By June 21, 1790 Rosenbusch rose to Rittmeister and squadron chief . On March 17, 1792, he was transferred as a major to the newly established hussar regiment "von Frankenberg" . On May 20, 1801, he became a lieutenant colonel and on May 8, 1802, he received a patent backdated to May 26, 1800 . This was followed by his promotion to colonel on May 25, 1803 . On April 13, 1805, Rosenbusch received his resignation , conferring the character of major general with a pension of 800 thalers. He died on April 15, 1807 in Ansbach.

As early as 1804 it says in his assessment: Was otherwise an excellent staff officer, but his mental powers and memory have completely left him in his one year .

family

He married Friederike Luise Crarz (born January 22, 1770) in Crailsheim on July 26, 1799 , widowed von Kropf. After the death of her husband, the widow married Colonel Ferdinand von Theobald from Württemberg.
