Albrecht Menke

Albrecht Menke (born July 10, 1934 in Düsseldorf ; † April 16, 2017 in Bonn ) was a German administrative lawyer .

Career

Menke studied law, history and art history and graduated as a lawyer (Ass. Jur.). He joined the FDP in 1952 and was Federal Chairman of the Liberal Student Union in 1957/58 and President of the Association of Liberal Academics from 1964 to 1966 .

From 1966 to 1970 he was an alderman in St. Augustin and from 1970 to 1976 city director in Gummersbach . At the same time he was deputy district administrator of the Oberbergischer Kreis . He then switched to business and was a member of the board of the Provinzial-Versicherung in Düsseldorf from 1976 to 1994 .

From 1958 to 1972 he was a member of the board of trustees of the Friedrich Naumann Foundation . He was also the deputy chairman of the administrative board of the German Development Service (DED).
