Albrecht Schreiber

Albrecht Schreiber (* 1938 in Hamburg ) is a German journalist , author and publisher .

Life

Albrecht Schreiber worked as a freelance journalist and editor in Hamburg. In Lübeck he was editor of the Lübecker Nachrichten , then chief editor at the General-Anzeiger in Rhauderfehn .

Since his time as a journalist in Lübeck, he has dealt with topics in the cities of Hamburg and Lübeck, especially the history of the Jews in Lübeck. He visited Rabbi Felix F. Carlebach , who came from Lübeck and who emigrated in 1939 , the grandson of Salomon Carlebach and Esther Carlebach and nephew of Hamburg's chief rabbi Joseph Carlebach , in Manchester and thus restored his contact with his place of birth. Carlebach was granted honorary citizenship of Lübeck in 1987.

In 2006 Schreiber founded the Edition Nord publishing house together with Jens-Sören Mann (* 1964) , in which he has published since then. Isa Vermehren wrote the foreword for his book Lübeck 1947 - Grenzstadt in Not , published in 2007 . Hamburg 1947 - Hunger, Need and Misery in the Hanseatic City was published in two editions in 2007.

Schreiber lives and works in Lübeck.
