Alcides Silveira , full name Alcides Vicente Silveira Montero , (born June 18, 1938 in Montevideo , † January 16, 2011 ibid) was a Uruguayan football player and coach.
Career
Player career

Midfielder "Cacho" Silveira was a member of the Sud America team from 1954 to 1960 . From 1960 to 1962 he played for CA Independiente . He was Argentine champion in the 1960 season . In total, he played 44 games for the Argentines and scored three goals. In 1962 he joined FC Barcelona . With the Spaniards he was first used on September 23, 1962 in the match against Betis Sevilla . In total, he played for the Spaniards, including his last appearance on April 14, 1963, seven league games and two games in the Messestädte Cup . He didn't score a goal. Then he was active from 1963 to 1968 for the Boca Juniors , with whom he won the Argentine championship in 1964 and 1965. For the Argentine club, he hit the opposing goal three times in 113 league appearances. His last career station was from 1968 to 1969 Nacional Montevideo . With the "Bolsos" he reached the finals of the Copa Libertadores 1969 , but was defeated there against Estudiantes de La Plata . The Montevideans also became national champions that year.
National team
Silveira made his debut on March 18, 1959 in the Uruguayan senior team . He played a total of eight international matches. He scored three goals. His last international game in the "Celeste" dated December 22, 1959. He was part of the squad at the South American Championship in December 1959 , which won the continental championship.

Coaching
After he had ended his active career in 1968, he temporarily coached the Boca Juniors that year. He then returned as a player to Nacional Montevideo. The definitive end of his career as a player in 1969 was followed by coaching engagements at Club Atlético Huracán and other Argentinian and Uruguayan clubs.
